This 16 km - NO portages flat-water race starts in the heart of the city of Saint-Jean-Sur-Richelieu and follows the path of the historical Chambly Canal to the city of Chambly.

CHAMBLY CANAL RACE
Race Description First Start will be at 10:00 am.
Paddlers will go north on the canal and this races has no portages. The start of the race will be held north of Lock #9 in the heart of Saint-Jean-Sur-Richelieu. The course will be cleared of public mothorized boats on the day of the event.
2km afther the start you will cross under the Marchand bridge (Hwy 35)
2km afther you will cross under the Boulevard Baillargeon bridge
4km afther you will cross under the l'île-Sainte-Marie bridge
3km afther you will cross under the Rt 223 bridge
1km afther you will cross under the Hwy 10 bridge
2km afther you will cross under the Bourgelais bridge
The finish line is 2km further!
The finish line will be on the canal south of Lock #8..
Docks will be at the disposition of paddler from start to finish.
The Pre-Race Meeting will be held 30 min before the start of the race.

Race day information
Race day registration from 8:00 to 10:00 AM in the park next to the start line.
First 30 participants get a free gift.
First Start 10:00 AM Race day registration: 30$ per paddler (payable the day of the event)
Post race shuttle will be available (see registration form)

Security
You are ultimately responsible for yourself, think safety first, before, during and after the race.
To take part in the race, every participant must sign a release of liability form at registration.
Every racer must carry a Canadian Coast Guard approved life vest with them.
Life vests must be accessible at all times. If race officials determine that conditions warrant it, all racers will be required to wear their life vests.
There will be safety boats on the course and assistance will be available on portages.
All portages will be clearly delimited. Please be cautious during portages.
If you need to leave the race for any reason, please notify an official as soon as possible.
